With the animations, you could just give them all the frames that are in the animation, and then let them put it together themselves. As easy as that.
If you tried out the mini-skull graphic, that's actually what it did. If you scrolled through the available "frames" of that clip, it made the skull appear as if it were spinning. And yeah, I intend on doing some more things like make certain items not just change color, but change angle, or appearance as well in the next version.

I played the game, and created a handful of designs and wanted to set one as my personal icon for newgrounds. (the one near comments and stuff, as I'm sure you know) and I don't know if this problem happens to other people, but for some reason, even though I resize it to fit... it says that it can't have transparent background. I changed it to a GIF and everything, so I'm not sure what's wrong. If you know of a solution, it'd help a lot. Thanks :)
Has to do with settings of the software you are using to save it as GIF. If there is an explicit "export" option, go with that instead of "save". It may offer you up more options depending on the software you are using.

i think you should expand with the NG Level Icon Creator adding more unlockables and objects there are limitless possibility's to what you could add to it for example you could make a beating heart be a unlockable =D that would be cool well good luck =D

Yeah, there wil definitely be more unloackables in a version 2. And more base items... generally more all around. And as far as animated items go, i mostly stayed away from them in this one because you can't screen-capture animation. And I didn't want people to have to get their button pushing finger at the ready, waiting to push "Print Screen" at just the right moment during an animation. So... thanks for the suggestion, but there may not be much more animation added other than transition effects (like the clock-face had when changing it in this version).
