Flash doesn't let you zoom-in that many times.

I'm not really sure what else to say.

ArchonClock responds:

Just keep on watching and eventually it'll reach maximum zoom.
Then the complete truth is revealed.

It is still almost a half MB...

Which seems rather high for something like this. Which I assume would be posted on the site as a sort of banner ad? Seems like a large download for an ad. I like the graphics used, and the message is somewhat amusing. Not sure I like the rainbow-flashing text much. And isn't threatening that a puppy die very much like threatening that a kitten die... which seems very much like an already dead horse being beaten... severely.

Simple responds:

I suppose it is pretty high but Casualty seems pretty pleased with it.

So im not complaining.

Looks pretty awful

If you "fixed the bg problem", then I can't imagine how hard it was to read the words before you "fixed" it... because, in my opinion, placing white letters over a gradient background that includes white as one of the dominant colors is just not conducive to legibility.

One of the other things I noticed was that your "Next" or "forward" button doesn't always appear in the same place, making it difficult to read and move on smoothly. When I got done reading I was expecting to just be able to click to move to the next slide, but then needed to break my train of thought and search for the button.

It could do with a lot more examples. Some screen-captures of example flash timelines, more captures of the actual graphics you were working with, some progressive shots of work coming togther... It was really weak graphically, and honestly, the font you used wasn't fun to read throughout the whole tutorial. Normally, I would choose something more simple fopr the basic text portions, the font you used was too distracting. And the fact that it was one of those fonts that has no choice but capital letters wasn't a plus.

You said it took you 3 whole days and 10 hours to put this together... and you think that is a long time for putting together a Flash application? Seriously? Honestly, I wouldn't be boasting the fact that this took you "3 days", because the flash itself clues you in on the fact that not too much time and effort was put into this, and bragging about 3 days only proves that that is the case.

I'm not trying to be a jerk here, you just seem to need a lesson or two in user-interface design. Not that I am some expert in the area... but I would say I at least try.

Check out my Object Oriented AS tutorial. I'm not saying that what I created is "what a tutorial should be" or anything. But I would say it is a hell of a lot closer than what you've got here.

Good luck on your future endeavors.

A bit slow

Most of the action was realy slow in playing out. I almost closed the window when, after sitting in front of the first intro text for about 3 minutes (having had plenty of time to READ it, for God's sake) the narrator started to (very slowly) read the same text (that I just spent the last 3 minutes reading and re-reading) to me. And that kinda set the tone fot the rest of the action presented. The main character was odd, to say the least. Kinda poorly drawn and animated. Most of the animation was done using tweens... which doesn't have to be a bad thing sometimes, but I think this movie severely suffered for it.

For the guy asking about the loading bars every couple minutes... judging by the 0.1 KB file size uploaded to Newgrounds, the actual movie isn't even hosted here, but is being called up in parts from separate URL's.

Fantastic graphics/animation/feel but...

... is this based on the Alien (you know... movies, HR Giger, comics, etc.) story-line? I hope so, because, if not, your originality is nil. Actually, you would get negative points for originality based on this trailer. Egg-laying aliens, who cocoon humans, burst from their eggs, implant themselves in the host, then burst from the host's chest. Oh... not to mention that the aliens look EXACTLY the same. Great job with the graphics, animation, and overall feel of the movie. And if it IS based on the Alien series, that's fine. But if not... what ARE you doing?

Not trying to be abusive, but honestly...

...this was really awful. Flashes like this (the animated something sitting in either a drab or epileptic-fit inducing backdrop, with some derogatory or inflammatory word(s) scribbled across the stage) is completely over-done. So is the posting it under like 10 guys names/handles, when it obviously didn't take that many people to create. So is the reply to each and every review made about the Flash with something like "Your mother's box tastes like cardboard" in all caps... and probably a couple misspellings.

I can't really even say much more about this without something being construed as an attempt at [more] offense, so I'm going to stop.

Heil responds:

UR MOTHRES BOX TASTES LIK CARDBAORD!

Odd character interaction...

The actions and reactions of the characters in the story were kinda strange. Like the guy who showed up because he "wanted to be where the action was", and then some girl was asking him questions like nothing dramatic (the fight) was even happening. And the two girl's being tied together by the sleeves of one of them seemed a pretty weak action to have been taken by some one with super-powers. It doesn't take super-powers to tear out of a stupid sweater. Also, I'm not exactly clear on why some big-name, secretive corporation would be interseted in acquiring a tattoo parlor. And that they would be so interested they would be willing to kill its owner? Very strange indeed. And not the mysterious sort of strange that leaves you awaiting conclusion to an amount of suspense... more like a "sure thing, whatever you say" sort of strange, that leaves you walking away and not returning the strange party's phone-calls.

The drawing and animation weren't too bad. Kinda stiff, and there were a few spots where the drawing seemed really mediocre. Like when the girls ecscape in a big blue column with yellow squiggles in it... what I guessed was suposed to be water... among a few other effects. And some of the girls looked like guys when side views of their face were what was shown.

Bishop-Supreme responds:

I would like to respond to you, since you're the only one with some constructive criticism about my animation and story.

Ok let's see... Relics's motives in joining Alyson should become more clear later on.

Caitlin asks the questions because she is more interested in why these people are fighting... than the actual fight... but apparently, Relics isn't.

The sleeves thing... well it took that power (which I won't say what it is) to tie them up without the sisters knowing it. It just took Megan a good amount of time to free her hands from the knot. They didn’t tear out of it, Megan was just working on untying the knot.. no superpowers involved in that.

The corporation is interested in acquiring everything. The actual murder of Nola (which happened in episode 1) was really only an accident.

And the drawing and animation, like I've said before... this is an old animation (I completed it about a year ago.. and I believe it is really the 8th complete animation I've ever done in my life.), but there will be definite improvements as I go along.

So now you see that evil will always triumph, because good... is dumb.
